Four Study Periods
The course is delivered in four periods of study. Students have the option to enrol on the three majors at the same time or on one particular major or period of study, depending on availability and the time schedule of the student.
In order to obtain the Diploma in Islamic Studies, students need to successfully complete the three majors that consist of 26 subjects; 12 Classical Islamic Sciences, 8 Arabic Language and 6 Quran Recitation. The recommended length of the program is 12 months. However, as the program is available online, students will be able to complete the program at their own pace. As soon as you complete one period, you will be able to progress to the following period. Students who have prior knowledge in Arabic language and/or Quran recitation will be exempted from some subjects according to their results in the placement test.

About Dr. Louay Abdulbaki
Dr. Louay Abdulbaki is the Founder and Directer of Wisdom Centre. He is an Islamic education consultant, author, researcher and former Imam. He is a former Director at Hikmah Institute and a Researcher/Research Fellow at Melbourne University and the University of Western Australia, respectively. He has 30 years of experience working with the Muslim community in Melbourne and Sydney as an Islamic educator, education consultant and Imam.
Dr. Abdulbaki has written and published more than 35 books / book-chapters and refereed articles on Islamic and Arabic studies, Islamic political thought and Muslim societies. He has recently completed comprehensive Islamic education and Arabic programs for an Islamic school, including 23 textbooks, for primary and secondary students, and is currently developing a series of 14 Islamic education textbooks for another Islamic school in Sydney.
Dr Louay holds a PhD in Islamic Studies and is the founder and co-founder of a number of organisations in Melbourne and Sydney and current member of ANIC and NSW Imam’s Council, Association of the Syrian Ulama and Syrian Education Commission.

Our Islamic Studies program consists of 12 courses/subjects that provide learners with the fundamental Islamic knowledge and enable them to apply Islamic knowledge in real life. Learners will be inspired to exert influence inside (on oneself) to attain spiritual purufication, through the pursuit of excellence (Ihsan), and consistency between beliefs/values and behaviour.
The courses take a holistic approach from theory to practice and are committed to providing a high quality academic experience based on the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) as expounded in the classical Islamic tradition and the contributions of the contemporary Muslim scholars.
